Truth written by Peter Temple is one very stunningly written and interesting crime novel. It involves a murder in a luxury apartment in Victoria, Australia. Inspector Stephen Villani is investigator for the murder of a young woman, whose body lies in the glass bath tub.
Below is very well written review of the book at a blogger at ning: "The central core of this book is the peeling back of artifice, of pretence, of deception and doubt and the revealing of truth. The truth behind a young girls body in a luxury bathroom; the truth behind the tortured men hanging in a backyard in Oakleigh; the truth about colleagues, mentors and political masters; the truth behind Villani's marriage, his runaway tearaway teenage daughter; his relationship with his brothers; and his fractious, terse, uncomfortable relationship with a father who he doesn't understand, and he thinks, doesn't understand him. Truth is a subject that the reader has to conclude is very very close to Temple's heart as well."

A little history of the world by E H Gombrich

Book "A little history of the world" was written by Ernst Gombrich who was of 25 years at that time. Gombrich, a native of Vienna is also known as an art
historian for his classic "The Story of Art" (Review of this book will be published later). A Little History of the World was orininally written in German
with the title Eine kurze Weltgeschichte für junge Leser.
The book isn't a standard histroy book with mention of lots of dates, events etc but it is about a delightful sweep of man from stone age to the Atomic age.
In the book author also describes the beliefs of many major religions like Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Book was once banned during Nazi regime for being too pacifistic.

The Greatest: My Own Story - Muhammad Ali , Cassius Marcellus Clay Biography
Muhammad Ali is one of the most famous boxers of all time and he was dominannt boxer during 1960s and 1970s. Muhammad Ali won world heavywieght championship thrice and later he converted to Islam for which he faced critism and even has to be out of boxing world for 3 years. Ali refused to serve in the U.S. military during Vietnam war, reason his Islamic faiths, due to which his title was revoked and he was sentenced to five years but conviction was reversed later.
How Muhammad Ali got introduced to boxing is also very interesting. Once he and friend attended a show and comming back they found Alis bicycle stolen. Ali reported this to office Martin and told him that he want to beat up the person who stole his bike, Martin told him that he should probably learn to fight first. A few days later, Muhammad Ali began boxing training at Martin's gym.
In 1971 he fought the The Fight of the Century against Joe Frazier and it was the first time Ali used his "rope-a-dope" technique. This match ws viewed in around 35 countries. The fight went the full 15 rounds, with both fighters still standing at the end. The fight was unanimously awarded to Frazier. Ali had lost his first professional fight and had officially lost the heavyweight title.

The Immortals Of Meluha by Amish Tripathi
John commented about this book on my World travel information blog, the blog post was to Mani Mahesh Yatra. John's description of the book motivated me and created an interest in the book. The book is on story of Lord Shiva and according to John the prankier and lighter side of Shiva is also pretty evident in the book and entertains us throughout.
Summary:
The legend of Shiva the man is told as a gripping fantasy in which Hindu myths are interpreted from a unique perspective and which explores philosophies such as the many versions of reality, karma, the character of societies, nature of evil and duality. A fast moving action narrative in which we also learn of the origin of the Brahmins, the magical anti-ageing drink Somras (with modern-research backed support of its efficacy), the concepts of Vishnu and others. Somewhere in an attempt to find the right answers, we forget the more important task of asking the right questions. At the end of the first book, Shiva is asking the right question - in fact the most crucial one: "What is evil?" And on his interpretation of the answer and in the very duality of life, hangs the fate of India. The Immortals of Meluha can be classified as a Mythological Fantasy. The Immortals of Meluha is – The Story of Shiva, the simple man, whose Karma recast him as our Mahadev (The God of Gods).
