A little history of the world by E H Gombrich


Book "A little history of the world" was written by Ernst Gombrich who was of 25 years at that time. Gombrich, a native of Vienna is also known as an art

historian for his classic "The Story of Art" (Review of this book will be published later). A Little History of the World was orininally written in German

with the title Eine kurze Weltgeschichte für junge Leser.

The book isn't a standard histroy book with mention of lots of dates, events etc but it is about a delightful sweep of man from stone age to the Atomic age.

In the book author also describes the beliefs of many major religions like Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Book was once banned during Nazi regime for being too pacifistic.

The Greatest: My Own Story - Muhammad Ali , Cassius Marcellus Clay Biography

Muhammad Ali is one of the most famous boxers of all time and he was dominannt boxer during 1960s and 1970s. Muhammad Ali won world heavywieght championship thrice and later he converted to Islam for which he faced critism and even has to be out of boxing world for 3 years. Ali refused to serve in the U.S. military during Vietnam war, reason his Islamic faiths, due to which his title was revoked and he was sentenced to five years but conviction was reversed later.
How Muhammad Ali got introduced to boxing is also very interesting. Once he and friend attended a show and comming back they found Alis bicycle stolen. Ali reported this to office Martin and told him that he want to beat up the person who stole his bike, Martin told him that he should probably learn to fight first. A few days later, Muhammad Ali began boxing training at Martin's gym.
In 1971 he fought the The Fight of the Century against Joe Frazier and it was the first time Ali used his "rope-a-dope" technique. This match ws viewed in around 35 countries. The fight went the full 15 rounds, with both fighters still standing at the end. The fight was unanimously awarded to Frazier. Ali had lost his first professional fight and had officially lost the heavyweight title.

Adolf Hitler Books - Book written by Adolf Hiter

There has been thousands of book written on Adolf Hitler and quiet numbers of documenties and some movies made on him. I've read few days back that a bollywood movie on Hitler is also in production. There are also some books written by Hitler the very first book was written while Hitler was in prison due to his failed Munich Revolution. This book titled "Mein Kampf" (My Struggle) highlights what Hitler considered political crimes. In Mein Kampf, Hitler uses the main thesis of "the Jewish peril," which speaks of an alleged Jewish conspiracy to gain world leadership.
